On the 11th of November at 2310 hours, Lycoming DPS toned out a working box on George Street in South Williamsport. 9 members woke and responded to this alarm. DPS advised the homeowner stated the home filled with smoke and could see flames in the basement coming from the furnace. Ladder 5 responded on the initial with 6 personnel. Engine 1 from Williamsport Bureau of Fire was first arriving with Ladder 5 shortly behind. Ladder 5 split crews, laddering the building, performing a primary search, and ventilation while Engine 1 stretched an inch and 3/4 inside. Fire was quickly knocked as the remaining mutual aid responders arrived. Fire was kept to the area of origin in the basement with minor smoke damage to the first floor.
