In the late night of September 2nd (23:30) the water rescue task force was dispatched to Clinton County as a severe storm sat down and produced several inches of rain down. Special Unit, Car and Boats 1-5 and 2-5 responded with 8 personnel. The crews assisted with checking door to door in several developments that were experiencing severe flooding. 6 homes had to be visited by watercraft.
Meanwhile back in the borough the storm shifted and dumped a substantial amount of rain on the borough activating the EOC. EMA Young responded to the station along with Chief 1-5, Captain 5, and EMT Kunes. Several streets were flooded including the Phillips Park Drive area where boats were deployed for rescue scenarios.
Several roads were damaged by fast moving water and 6 homes suffered severe foundation damage with walls collapsing and many homes took on water in the basements.
