Tonight, at our Monthly meeting, elections were held. Chief Trammell was reelected to a two-year term as Fire Chief. Kristin Beck and Phil Hurne were reelected to the board.

Membership voted to move forward with the Special Unit project. This project is adding a tarp system to our bed enclosing it in. Giving us some weather protection to be able to store more equipment. SWFD is in the process of building its skill level and equipment to become a certified Swiftwater Type 3 rescue team. Once all equipment is purchased, it will be mounted on the Special Unit and the Special Unit along with Boats 1-5 and 2-5 will be able to deploy all across the state in an emergency as a 6-man water rescue team.

UTV Project was given the go ahead to continue to progress as we approved the purchase of a 2025 Kawasaki Mule Pro-FX 1000 HD UTV. This UTV will be equipped with a 70-gallon firefighting skid unit in the bed, full lighting package with siren, and a radio. This UTV will be designated as UTV 5 and be able to haul 2 fire fighters to emergencies were a normal vehicle or fire apparatus may not be able to access.
