South units along with Mutual Aid responded on the overnight hours for a brush fire to the rear of a residence on Clinton St. Squad 5 with 4 arrived to find a moderate brush fire to the rear extending to a fence, gazebo, and wood line. Fire was quickly knocked with a handline off of Engine 1. Investigation found several extension cords and surge protectors piggy backed off each other causing one cord to malfunction and started leaves and pine needles on fire spreading to the gazebo, under the fence, catching the fence, and small wood line.
