Station 5 was requested by station 18 to assist with a motorist who stalled out in a flooded roadway with waters rising fast and swift. Special Unit 5 with boats 1-5 and 2-5, as well as Car 5 made the response. Units arrived on scene as Rescue 18-44 was making the rescue. Crews on scene could not wait any further as the water was rising too fast and becoming extremely volatile and slowly starting to move the vehicle. Rescue 18-44 made a split decision to enter the water with the heavy and have the occupant climb onto the rescue from the sunroof. Sometimes you have to go outside the box and do something unorthodox. Outstanding job to all the rescuers on scene.
