Small electrical fire while baby naps in swings, springs mom into action. One of our own experienced an incident at her home. While our newest family member napped in her swing, an electrical socket popped and mom unplugged the lamp and removed the child from harm, as well as activating the emergency system bringing the department and mutual aid to the home. Chief 5 was first arriving and found the fire out and power secured to the at area. Remainder arriving units checked the walls for extension with a thermal imaging camera and exposing the receptacle. Landlord was notified of incident and after determining that the incident was secured, building turned over to the landlord, who made proper repairs immediately.
Crews then got to visit with Hazel’s smile!
