South crews were dispatched to Route 15 in the area of the Ridgemont Hotel for a vehicle accident with one injury. Car (Chief Trammell), Squad 5 (6), and Special unit 5 (2) responded emergent. Chief 5 arrived to find a single vehicle that traveled off the roadway into a ditch with one still inside. Driver was not able to self-extricate due to the resting position the vehicle found itself in. Crews widened the driver’s side of the vehicle to remove patient through the window to awaiting EMS. Extrication was completed within 20 minutes of arrival. One patient was transported to UPMC Williamsport for evaluation.
