South (Career and Volunteer) were dispatched to a tractor trailer fire in Armstrong Township. Chief 5 and the Engine (Career and Volunteers) responded immediately. Chief 5 arrived at a fully involved engine and cab of a Roll Off Semi. Driver was out of the vehicle and uninjured. Engine arrived right behind the chief and began extinguishing the fire. Fire was knocked with in 5 minutes of arrival. Apparatus was repositioned and roadway opened to the left lane. Crews stood by until removal of the vehicle with traffic control. Units operated on scene for an hour and a half with about a 15-to-30-minute full road closure.
